What are the positives and negitives of the JD Flex 71 vs the IH 185. General pros and cons are also helpful.

Easy to adj? depth control? etc

My bean planter is a 3pt bar with IH 295 units on it - about the same as the 185s as far as I ever could tell?

I think they are going to be about the same in operation. The JD are a tad more popular, so you might find parts a tad easier for them.

My opinion.

I use a 71. really easy to opperate. I think Kinze stills produces the same unit. Depending where you live parts are readily available. I guess they were really popular in the Red River Valley sugar beet country.{ND-MN}

I use a 185 for my sweet corn it works great no skips as long as you take the time to prepare a good seedbed
