Been REAL busy,so pics of our bean harvest done earlier this month are finally getting posted.

Beans didn"t do as good as usual due to a dry spring and a cold/wet summer.Averaged 44 bu/acre.We left them out until dry enough to store without running through the corn dryer like most guys here did.

Finished corn Friday night and dried and stored the last of it Tues night.Have 24 acres of stalks to chop and plow yet(been raining) and we"ll be all done.Hopefully this weekend.

More harvest pics to come........

Where you guys at? Those pics look like across the road from me in mid Michigan!! Color of combine is wrong, lol!

Good looking combine. Is it a 1973 without air conditioning? I think the early 00 series had a different style roof if they were equipped with A/C.

SE Minnesota. The combine is as close to Oliver "green" as we could get(LOL)!

We have a GREAT Deere dealer 5 minutes from us.

Good eye! Yes '73 and no AC. Second year with this machine.2600 hrs.Clean unit.Replaced our 6600 gasser with high hrs.Sure inhales the beans at 8 rows per swipe!

When this(7700) combine was made,it was the largest production combine in the world.

Other than the gas thing how does that machine compare to 6600, I have a 4400 and thinking about stepping up, was considering 6600 but have been told to seriously look at 7700 machines. But if we have another year like this one may not need any.

Animal,

The 7700 is no comparison the the 6600.Woudn't go back to a 6600 now.

Capacity, power and ground speed in a 7700 is incredible.

Nah, you only need 105 HP to pull 4-16's. The 1650 would handle 3-16's ok.

We pull a 546 4-16 plow behind our 1855 in 3rd gear, mostly in direct but sometimes under and sometimes over.

Also pulled a 5 shank subsoiler with our 1855 2 weeks ago when it was dry(ish) and was down in 2nd gear direct. Borrowed the neighbors 7 shank and dropped the 2 outside shanks.

looks like nice ez going . one thing i dont understand where's the mud at? Been raining here so much, ruts and slinging mud are almost a rule in the field!

Nice, but you shoulda seen the one working the neighbor's place this year. Tracks instead of front wheels, rear (steering wheels) were larger than a lot of tractor wheels, and 4 wheel/track drive. Header must have been at least 30 feet wide. Man what a machine, what a cloud of dust!
Donno the brand, but was yellow whith black lettering on the sides. Think, maybe CAT.

thanks for the pic...I still enjoy seeing small antique combines & tractors still in use...thanks ...Kent

That"s what I drive at work. It"s a Lexion built by Claas. Has Caterpillar tracks and a Cat engine around 520 hp. We have a 40 ft. header for beans and 12 row corn head. Can cut beans up to 5 mph but the sickle doesn"t cut quite as well that fast. It"s astounding the amount of mud that thing can crawl through. It has hydraulically-driven rear-wheel assist for the really nasty stuff. Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Been awhile!

we run a 6620 and a 7720 cant tell the difference between the two while driving them both run 20 foot heads in beans 220 head on 6620 will out run 920 head on 7720 in tough beans like 7720 for corn though bigger hopper and can push it a little harder and not through out corn

There was mud. I cut higher in alot of spots 'cuz the head started pushing mud.Slugged the machine a few times and had to clear out the returns elevator.
