well I've been at my temp job for almost 2 months, most of the guys are really easy to work with, but this one guy does no wrong, never makes a mistake, and imagine this, when he does make a mistake he always blames someone else.anyone else have a co-worker like this?

Well I'm bigger and older than most of the guys I've worked with so it's very seldom that someone shoves it off on me. My wife's sister works in a DMV office with a man like that. He makes the mistakes and blames her, and he makes plemty of them. She was on anti-depressants for awhile because of him. She doesn't want to leave the job because of the pay and benefits but she wishes she could quit. Jim

not me i wont put up with those kind of people, they go or i do, and i make it very clear i dont care which, so it comes down to to who is most valuable, only lost once lol [ she was better looking than me]

Mr. Perfect needs to have an unfortunate accident, like....An anvil falling on his foot, or slip on a banana peel. Maybe then he will realize how much of a *rick he is.

I think just about every work place has one of those. We have one at our work place who came from another dealer. He is always talking about how they did it at his previous place of employment and he screws up a lot. Everyone wishes he would just go back where he came from.

Used to work with a guy like that. Always telling us how good it was at his last job and how things were done. Found out later the reason he left his wonderful last job. He set the bosses RV on fire.

Worked with a guy like that only he was always showing me the (his) correct way. After a couple of times I decided to let him show me the correct way to do the hard stuff. And I always did the lite work his way. I dont think he ever caught on. ;)

Worked with several people that way! One in particular, I worked 2nd shift Perfect worked 3rd. At least twice a month perfect was in Supervisors office complaining I made bad parts. My parts weren't bad, according to Perfect they were. Supervisor would drag me in his office for the speech, I would reply same way every time. lets go check my parts together. No not needed we already checked them. I would ask for the results, same answer from Supervisor we can use them but you need to watch your tolerance better! I would say my parts are in print 3rd shift has a problem. This went on for about 2 years, same thing every time, same results every time. Till the day I was called in the office again, this time it was serious, HR rep was there time for repremand, employee warning the whole 9 yards. You made bad parts again and this cannot continue. Got the whole speech again and was asked to sign the employee warning (pink slip). I smiled and replied didn't do it 3rd shift has a problem. This comment made them mad! Spittin on me mad when they talked! I sat there smiling (they got madder yet) and asked when the parts were made, Supervisor told me the date and I smiled bigger as I pointed to his daily log book showing I was on vacation! Their faces got beet red as I said 3rd shift has a problem! I didn't have trouble with Perfect again!

these guys have a very small ego and/or small thingamjig. They are very weak of character and are to be pitied. For sure, MOM did not approve of them.

Your story put a smile on my face. Found myself in a similar situation.
I also (privately, not work related) know a person who never makes mistakes. If one points a finger at him because he screwed up, he will ALWAYS reply "yeah, but that's different". Grrrr.

Where I work we call him "shoulda, coulda, woulda," because thats how he starts the sentence when he talks about someone elses work. Upper management even calls him that. He just won't catch on.

I worked with the perfect A** H@#* we would go out on job he would stand and talk to coustomer all the time we were there while I did the work, as soon as got back to shop he would run to boss "owner of Company" and tell him that he couldn't get any work out of me he had to do it all. About a year after I retired the boss came to me and told me he had to apoligise to me.This is a guy I have neaver heard apoligise to anyone for anything. He said he thought I didn't do anything but after I retired he found out who was doing the work. I thanked him but told him if he wanted me to go back to work forget it, it wasn't going to happen.

Have a person around like that, not only perfect, but better than anything you have ever done.

After anyone tells a story from the weekend, he always starts with one of the following..

1. "Thats nothing I did this..."
2. "Thats all I did this..."
3. "My _____ is faster..."
4. "My ______ costs more..."
and on and on.

We all named him "oneupper". And just like the other posts, he don't get the nickname.

I worked with not one, but two of these dudes at the same time. They were trying to outdo each other. I stood back and watched them totally disassem ble two machines that only needed a little adjustment. They went so far with one that a company had to bring in prints to figure out what they had done. Fixed the first in about 5 minutes. Company was there 2 days. They never asked me or anyone for help again. One guy pulled about 40 wires in a half inch conduit until all the insulation started stripping off. Lotta gray hair.

Worked with a guy who always said, "Pop and I did this" or "Pop and I did that".

We called him Popeye.

I have to say though, he was a good guy AND a good worker.
