The kids go cart engine is DOA and I need to buy a replacement. Who currently has the best deals (price and shipping) on a 6 or 8 horse engine?

I have read the Chinese engines are pretty reliable...anybody use them? It"s just a question about an engine, I don"t need any flag waving Patriotic harangues, thank you.

I bought a 10hp B&S from the smallenginewarehouse back in 2006 for my Troy tiller. It arrived in 2 days. Hal

Check Harbor Freight for the 6.5 hp Honda clone. Locally it has been sold for about $149.00. They had a special on a $99.00 about 4 hp. Couple people with commercial business have bought them and they seem to work, last a rough season or 2. One business is a driveway sealer truck with a couple engines for sprayer and tank, engines abused- no fin cleaning, no oil checks until engine throws rod, air fliters not changed. The 6.5 has oil minder and stops when oil gets low from neglect and abuse, saved itself a couple times. RN.

I think the clone engines are very well made. I have had several of them. You can get a warranty from Harbor Freight. The old B&S flat tops are not made anymore. You can get parts for them but that is it.

Harbor freight has the honda clone 6-1/2 hp right now for $139, bought one just like it awhile back for $99, to use on my wood splitter, starts easy, runs quiet and cheap.

Thanks folks. I checked out small engine warehouse....they have lots of goodies. I called Harbor Freight and was quoted a price of $159.00 for the 6.5 clone engine. I thought I had seen them for $99 or $119.00 recently.

The kids go cart had a Tecumseh engine on it and pretty much toast when I bought the cart. It finally died. I was never too impressed with it to begin with.
