I limit my posting to this site somewhat. Why?

Why is it this site cannot operate like many of the other forums? That is with the way you are notified by email that someone has replied to a topic you either are interested in or replied to. Many a time I have replied to a topic only to find my email inbox FILLED with notifications of replies.

Most other forums notify you only once if there is additional replies..... that is until you visit the topic then the counter is reset.

I am tired of receiving 20 or 30 emails stating that someone has replied when in reality I only need one.

Just my two cents.

You don't have to get notified at all unless you check the box. I
don't, and have never been notified at all.

Like Zach said. I've been posting on here for years and have never been notified of a reply unless I checked the box saying I wanted to....checking the box isn't mandatory.......

I'm unchecking the "Notify me when a reply is posted" now. David...............

No problems here; I've never received more than one notice of a reply, and no evidence any duplications (if any) filtered.
Perhaps something in between (upstream from your computer but downstream from the site)??

Never any multiple notifications and I wish that if there is a reply to a reply that I did recieve notification on I would get a notification on as well but the system is not set up that way so if after you recieve a notification and 2 wheeks later somebody replies to that reply you do not find it.
