starting a tractor club questions

Looking for anyone who is a member of a tractor club. In my area there are a few that are 30-50 miles away. Some of us locals have been talking of starting our own. Talked to officers from the above mentioned clubs. Now Im concerned about the non profit org. thing. Does it have to be in place before the club really hits its stride or can the club build a treasury so it can afford to do all of that legal work? I think I understand the benifits of making it an Incorperated club.Club stands on its own and no one person is responsible for its liabilities or can attach its assets to themselves. But is this an easy thing to do? Would love a member of the law bar to become a member so we could possiblely tap some free or nearly free advise.Problem is most of the local lawyers are busy driving their beemers and Lincoln Navigators to look at a lowly ole tractor club.
Has anyone had experience in putting a club like this together? Are there any club officers out there that have addressed these issues? Can you put me in touch with a person who has knowledge of these issues. All help appreciated. Sorry for taking your time away from the GREAT HARVEST PICTURES!!! Thank you in advance for any help.

Post this this question to the guy on this forum named John T. He is a lawyer who rather get his hands dirty on tractors than get them on a BMW.
