Is this a "stinger" pump driven off of the front of the crankshaft?

Typically, on an older machine, the pump would probably be rated 8 - 12 GPM when driven by the engine at high idle. PSI rating PROBABLY in the 1500 - 1800 PSI range, of course, so long as the pump can handle the required PSI the actual PSI will be set by the load being lifted and the setting of the relief valve in the control valve.

THIS very site has some "stinger-style" pumps in the Ford tractor section.

For a varied selection of surplus pumps, check out the SurplusCenter website.

Take your old pump apart. It will probably be a gear pump. There are formulas out there to use once you have the measurements that will convert all those numbers to GPM at a given RPM. Now where did I put my formula?

Have you thought about a Chaar-Lynn power oac that runs off the pto they have single way and two way with controls and resivour all in one unit put out 1000 pdi @10 gal What is the dia of your cycls. I run them and my loader on the B will pick 700 lbs easy with 3in cycls.

If it's a front-mounted, crankshaft-driven pump, the "industry standard" is somewhere around a 13 GPM @ 2400 RPM pump for farm loaders, and 23 GPM @ 2400 RPM for industrial or HD loaders. Smaller pumps will work but the loaders will be very slow.

Keep in mind that the GPM rating means nothing unless expressed at a given RPM.

The only rating the means anything on its own is the cubic inch displacement per revolution.

Farm loaders usually have at least a 1.5 cubic inch pump. HD loaders at least a 2.4 cubic inch pump and loaders with backhoes 3 cubic inches at least.

My Ford 4000 loader has a 23 GPM. 2.6 c.i."
My Deere 1010 loader has a 23 GPM. 2.6 c.i."
My Deere 1020 loader has a 13 GPM. 1.4 c.i."(slow)
My Deere 300 loader has a 24 GPM. 2.4 c.i."
My IH 3414 loader has a 23 GPM. 2.6 c.i."
MY Case 580CK loader has a 23 GPM. 2.6 c.i."
My Oliver OC4 loader has a 23 GPM. 2.6 c.i."
My IH B275 with loader has a 10 GPM (very slow).
1.4 c.i."

gene i have no pto to run one of them pumps off i wish. its not a front mount pump its a motor mounted and runs off the can gear.as far as taking the pump aparts i can only get so far in to it befor i can ger the parts out and the pump is locked up.thanks for the help on numbers now i get to try to find a pump that will fit in the blank.

This pump is for VA series tractors 1949 & later. Pump is constant running - low pressure - spur gear type. Rated 7 gpm @ 1000 psi @ engine rpm 1425.

Sometimes on ebay, JICase used parts vendors, salvage yards. Lots of 1949 - 1955 VA tractors built.
