Every day more money is printed for Monopoly than the U.S. Treasury.

Many years ago in England, pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. 'Wet your whistle' is the phrase inspired by this practice.

More tomorrow.

Hey Nancy.........more trivia; which is worth more; monopoly money or U.S. Treasury money? How much difference is there in value? In 1937, my Dad swung an ax and pulled a cross-cut saw for 50 cents.............per 10 hour day (a nickel an hour) for most of the Spring and Summer. His $.50 was surely worth .............50 cents. I know this kinda hi-jacks your thread, but what else is gnu?

More trivia.

What three counties in Nebraska are named after animals?

Buffalo, Antelope, and Garfield.

I was recently reading that in the 1980's Coca-Cola decided to change their brand name in China because in Mandarin the phonetic sounds of coca cola mean 'bite the wax tadpole'.

Used to tell our boys that if they could kiss their elbows, they would turn into girls; conversely told our girls they would turn into boys. it was fun watching them try.

Also told them if they would pour salt onto birds" tails, they couldn"t fly and then they could catch them.
Kinda surprised that all 4 kids grew up pretty normal and they still love their parents.

What does S.O.S. mean (save our souls?) it is not an acronym, that is the letters do not stand for words. SOS has a very distinctive sound when sent my Morse Code.

I always thought sos ment same old s#@*t. Kind of like same old song second verse sing the words same as the first.

And Mayday would be:
-- .- -.-- -.. .- -.--

Even someone who is not fluent in code can recognize SOS.
