Homemade 3pt for a John Deere A

I made the rocker shaft out of 2 inch pipe with 1 1/2 pipe welded inside of it. The lift mechanism is a screw type jack from a ford pickup. The jack sits on top of the PTO housing.
The lower arms are supported by the drawbar bracket.

I've been using it with the log splitter for about 3 years.

My question is if you guys think this will be strong enough to use for things heavier than the log splitter. Can the PTO housing handle the weight of pulling something with it?? (like a rake, or light cultivator) If not where would you beef it up at?

That's a good-looking but light three-point setup. I think you've been lucky so far, since the PTO housing on those old tractors is not that strong.

You've got a hydraulic pump on there somewhere to run the wood splitter, and when you have a rockshaft like yours the lift point does not have to be centered. Put those things together and use them. How about moving the lift point to the left or right and use a hydraulic cylinder with a bracket on the drawbar? You may need to build a heavier drawbar for the tractor but if you break that, it's not a catastrophe like breaking off the PTO housing would be.

You might need to put sway limiters on there to keep the lift arm from hitting the cylinder.
