I thought Yanmar bought out Shibaura (Shibura)? My 1985 Ford 1210 is a Shibaura -- it was proably the best compact you could buy then: hyrdostatic drive, position category 1 3-point.

I don't think so... Shibura (ISM) is a component of IHI corporation, a jap multinational with it's hands in a lot of pies.
Yanmar appears to be quite distinct from that.

I personally think the boomer is the dumbest looking pos I have seen for awhile made for some city geek/wannabe farmer.

I am familiar with Yanmar. They made John Deere
compacts a few years ago. But, Now when I go
into the local Cub Cadet dealer all the larger
compact tractor and loaders have Cub Cadet/Yanmar
decals on them.
