Rear Tractor Tire Question

Hello,

My question is, if I have a 14.9 X 28 rear tire that needs replacing and someone gave me a used 16.9 X 28 tire, can I use it on the same rim?

Not likely- you can go safely one inch wider or narrower than the rim width. Your 14.9 is likely on a 13 inch rim. If it was on a 14 inch, the 16.9 (old size 15) could fit on a 14. You also don"t want both the 14.9 and the 16.9 on the same tractor. Their profiles are much different.

Well yes but we do that in Ky. to use on hillsides. lol

.........My Fordson has a 16.9x28 and a 18.4x28.. just a little wider,and if the mudguard allows it.
