unreasonable being a nice name for pr!ck.

Still haven't gave up completely on a pickup so went on line to the Exchange car sales (a tax free option for servicemembers to buy vehicles) And asked a simple "what do you have available in country for a Ram 1500 4dr, 4x4 and tow package" Please let me know what is on hand, where it is, and the cash price. Gave them my location and hit the key. 15 minunte later, I get an email from the office across the street with a bunch of junk mail about everything except what was on hand. Then another from the same person asking what options I wanted, do I have a car now, how much do I want to put down, yada yada. Wrote him back with my original simple request and asked if he wanted to answer the request or should I ask at the next military community.
Wife says I don't have people skills

hard to get an answer these days, world must have been trained by Politicians. My view is if I wanted junk mail I would have asked for it, so it is not unreasonable to expect a reply to the questions asked.Seems the other party lacks comprehension skills.

You're being unreasonable. Welcome to my world.

I have the same problem and get the same responses and have been known to put my money back in my pocket and walk off the lot just because the salesman ------ me off by refusing to answer a simple yes or no question. Trying to get a straight answer (much less the actual truth) out of a salesmen is like pulling tiger teeth.

Few things spin me up faster than a salesman that treats you like he's doing you a favor by taking your money.

Hi Dave, Yes I would say that you are being totally unreasonable. whichever salesman took the inquiry would have had to spend probably 10 minutes researching the answer to your questions. which meant that he would have had to miss a cigarette break outside with the other guys. Instead, all he had to do was just hit 3 or 4 keys to reply with the already canned response, and out the door to tell about how many customer inquiries he had handled. What are you thinking?

Morning dave2
I don't think you are.
I know they don't have the facilities at the dealers like here in the states, but when I am looking at buying a new vehicule, I go to the shop foreman/mechanics and start asking questions there, after I see something I like, and try to leave out the salesman.
I know your situation is a little different over there.
My next comment is, my wife says I do not have people skills either.
I tell them what I think, (why lie or sugar coat it)

I would rather take a beating than go vehicle shopping, either online or at a dealership. They have a way about making you feel like an idiot. Any more I tell them how I want to purchase a vehicle without all their garbage and if they want to do it that way fine, and if not I walk out. Like I heard one salesman tell his boss, if you want to sell him a truck do it his way or he will walk out. He's did it before. I bought it on my terms.

You weren't harsh enough you big dummy obstreperant rapscallion. Next time give then a real verbal whiplashing. But then again WHOCARES.

People skills? I wouldn"t think they apply with car salesman, lawyers and bankers. I see something on a lot I "think" I want, I make a few notes, and do some research on my own. If I like what I come up with I generate a "what I"ll drive it off the lot for" price. I take that much cash in and announce to the owner, salesman, receptionist etc. Cash out the door price, all taxes, tags etc included. I go walk around the vehicle one more time and if somebody isn"t getting out there to at least stall me while they are generating a response, I start for my vehicle. I AM still the customer.

Hey dave, you remind me of myself, and some say Im turning into a grouchy old man lol

I do things much the same way, Im the CUSTOMER Im the one PAYING, sooooooo I approach it same as you I say HERES THE DEAL, HERES WHAT I WANT,,, If you can deliver fine, if not fine THEN I WALK AWAY they can take or leave it. I tell my kids if they want to buy a car do the research, make an offer then set back, they dont have to do the selling thats the job of the salesman.

My wife sometiems gets embarrassed when I go to a restaurant and if they have like those huge jumbo tenderloins (even both us can hardly eat it all) I say we want ONE and we will share it. I figure if they dont want my money FINE I will go elsewhere.

And when we go to a fancy restuarant and some smiling bubbly waitress approaches us with her big fake smile and gives that phony canned speech "Hi Im Mercedes and I will be your server" (hoping for a big tip) I shake her hand and respond Hi, Im John and this is my wife Julie and WE WILL BE YOUR CUSTOMERS (Embarrasses my daughter to death lol)

Enough ranting I THINK YOU ARE PREFECTLY REASONABLE

I'd say no, but I have been told the same thing quite often over the years. I usually associate people skills with insurance and used car salesmen, some of the lower life forms that walk on two legs.

It's an easy fix, if your smarter then the people sending you junk mail,,,

Simply write on it (Refused) and send back to sender, I do it all the time,,, no big deal for me,,, but for most, just have to get smarter,,,

as for junk e-mail,,,, NEVER open it,,, just that simple .....

have a nice week-end, with a Strong end ==> Dave2..

no, your just fine, the game here is you told him what your looking to buy, he's trying to sell you what he's got handy, just tell him if he cant confine himself to the vehicle type you asked about then he need not email you, its been back in 94, but i played this game with the local chevy dealer, i needed a heavy duty pickup to pull trailers, the idiot salesman took one look at me and decided i was a 's 10' person, after trying to get the idiot to understand i did not need a mini truck, i went to the ford dealer it was friday, in 1 hour i had a brand new f350 4x4 to drive for the weekend, i bought the truck on monday and drove it straight over to the chevy dealer to show him what i wanted and to let him know he missed the sale lol i havent tried to buy anything from that dealer since

Every once in a while you will see a report on TV how an investigative journalist uncovered some unsanitary things at restaurants, BUT THINK HOW MANY THINGS HAPPEN THAT NEVERRRRRRRR GET REPORTED YIKES. Locally in Indinapolis they discovered all sorts of nasty things and violations ionvolving mice and mice droppins in restaurants that serve at the NEW (you would think clean) Lucal oil stadium at Colts games. Once a buddy of mine went in a fast food restaurant in an inner city and when he saw what the kitchen and floor and the workers looked like HE LEFT AND SO DID I

Dave2 get a UNI-MOG ( correct spelling?) Then you dont need a truck or a tractor. LOL
I had a friend that had one, used it for seeding roads, and off road contracts for the Guvernment. It was a fun, fun machine.

i went to get a gerand marquis last summer.i wanted one a year or two old, green. the salesmen pushed everything else at me. they were more interested in me financeing it, i said i wanted to pay cash.. they really wouldnt listen so i drove off in my 85 grand marquis thats still a good car.was the local ford dealer.

Got arrested and had 3 months probation due to a car salesman once. I emailed a couple of Chevy dealers asking for an AWD Astro van. Couple hours later I got a reply, man said he had just what I was looking for. Me and the Ol Lady piled into the car and drove 60 miles to this dealer. Found the guy that answered me and he started showing me a Blazer I said no so he showed me a truck. I said where is the van? "Well the inventory sheet said we had a couple, must have sold." Well I grabbed the liar by the throat and slammed him against the wall. His boss called the cops, and I was in trouble. I think it was worth it though, watching him turn lily white and his eyes buggin out when I went after him.

Good for you ! you were just Standing up For Your Rights ! He Was Nothing But a Crook!!! His Boss Should have FIRED Him Instead of Calling the Cops ! he was as bad as the Salesman.

i once bought a new s 10 had what i wanted and needed at one dealer.
i went to another to see if dealer no. 2 would beat price of no. 1.
dealer 2 had a fancy s 10 none of the equipment i wanted for more money and salesman couldn't understand why i didn't want his truck.
i told him to start i wanted a truck to go to work, haul my equipment and get good gas milage.
the one i bought would get 24- 26 mpg if i stayed between 55-60.
