Working for a farmer

Just wondering what some of you farmers pay your labor? I see alot of guys on unemployment working for the big farmers here in illinois.
Another thought i had was , why don't all the poor, who are being told to hate the rich, that they should share their hard earned money with them, why don't they just go work for each other. The poor should work for the poor. Then there would be no jealousy in this country by the uneducated, down trodden, whiteman is keeping me down crowd. They could share their profits with each other and equally. Kind of like a commune!!
I guess the point is if a guy is working for a farmer. The farmer should pay him a wage , plus i suppose that maybe the worker should have a right to a piece of your farm. I think that is the thinking that some people have in this country. The ole tax them rich, lucky, greedy, sobs, because they have too much anyways. It's quite obvious that they didn't work 20 hr days , seven days a week to make it to where they are. They had to cheat some way to get that rich.
So i guess when corn harvest starts for my friend down the road, i help him every year, i will have to bill him for part of his farm operation, cause nobody needs 1000 acres. I only have 20 acres. Yea that's what i will do. I'll let you guys know how that works out.
Mean while if any of you rich , white, 1000 to 5000 acres farmer on the LEFT want to follow you party down this road , i will gladly stand in line to steal from you. LOL

sad that you have nothing better to do.

What's real sad is , the misunderstanding that you think i have nothing to do. My lovely bride and i own 3 properties in 3 states. She will retire from the Air Force in 2 years. She is stationed at Warner Robins AFB, taking care of the critters. I am in Illinois on my farm wrapping things up . My whole 3 acres of bean done yesterday. I have 5 acres of corn to do waiting for it to dry. I have hay to haul to Ga. this week, 1000 mile there. I am cleaning pig pens and getting ready to move some to a neighbors place for the winter.
I will make 2 trips in the next month to Ga. I also am wrapping up some backhoe work , for a few friends. No charge friends!!!!!!
Also i help neighbors with their harvest for fun!! No charge. I have done well for myself over the last 20 years, this is how i share my money, by sharing with others, not being forced to give it to slobs that don't want to help themselves. I built some spec houses, and also have some nice property we have bought over our life time.
I was up a 5 this morning enjoying the sunrise.!! I like to think for myself. If you will notice sometimes i am not on here for a week at a time . You might wonder why? My work i do is enjoyable , so sometimes i just am to tired to get on here.
My friend what have you been doing , to feel as if you can judge me.?

Its easier to stay rich than it is to get rich. Rich people set the tax
laws and the exceptions, so they make sure their interests are
protected. A small family farm pays personal income tax rates,
quite high up here. An incorporated farm pays low corp tax rates
and can pays its stakeholders big tax free dividends. (again up
here)

Do not quite understand the conversation taking

I think you're trying to make the typical "liberals want a handout, while conservatives work for what they have" speech, but you failed miserably.

The wealthiest farmers when it comes to NET income (what's left after bills and debt are paid) are the little farmers who have a job in town. It's a fact! Most 5000 acre farmers are in debt up to their eyeballs. Jim

The president's idea that if you give a little bit more to help somebody else is all well and good. Most of us do this anyway. We just don't want to be forced to do it.

When push comes to shove is that we have gotten to a situation where many think they just deserve a piece of the pie, regardless if they planted, watered, harvested, prepared or baked the pie.

My mom had a saying, too many chiefs, not enough indians. Seems that is what the govt has become. They all want to tell us we need to give more, but I don't see them giving at all.

I think the US govt should run itself like Texas. They have to have a balanced budget. If they can't balance the budget, then why pay those senators, congressmen and white house staff. Freeze the taxes where they are. No new ones. They have to manage the money we are currently paying in.

Chicken Little was the one, of very little brain, who was convinced the sky was falling after an acorn fell on her head. Maybe an apt fable under the circumstances as well.

The one you had in mind was the Little Red Hen. It's kind of humorous since chickens would normally eat the wheat seed and the bugs rather than wait for wheat to grow, cut and thresh the wheat, grind flour and bake bread.

If the rest of the responders don't get the idea.................. Guess maybe a little more Fox new instead of CNN. I am extremely happy in life, i guess common sense has flew the coop on the Hill.
I just didn't want to put it in black and white for all the cnn watchers.
Still interested in pay for a hired hand though. Not for myself, just a general idea across the country. I have friends who are a little younger and don't know where to get a job. They are on unemployment and are losing their desire to look for work. I remember in 84, i grew up in minnesota and i had enough. I went to Austin Texas , and learned to frame houses. 10 bucks an hour back then, cash. If you were from minnesota you were hired on the spot. Good work ethics from the area is what i was told.
I tell these laid off concrete, construction guys . Find the work it aint in Illinois , and wont be for a long time with our political regime now.
I know georgia isn't to bad in a few places. Warrner Robin AFB area is fair.
I think the oil fields out west are hiring ,???? correct me if i am wrong.

Chris, that was cold. Completely correct and I was thinking about posting something like that, glad you did, but it was cold. This Vet was USA 3 Armoured Division 1982-85. I still don't know what is bothering Farmer 101, but I feel you are right. He better have that house clean when she gets home. Perhaps the problem is none of the poor unemployed people would help him clean the house!

Well!!!!!!!!!!!! Did any of you read my post at all? I will say it again , my back ground is construction, ie spec homes, commercial construction. No i didn't work for anybody. I did it on my own. I have been with this same woman since we were kids. I doubt that many of you can say that. I am old school, like a bunch of older school guys are. My wife and i have no kids, she is a professional woman. She started as a E-1 in the AirForce, she is now a Chief Master Sergeant. For all you non military weenies you don't go any higher in the enlisted ranks. A masters in computer science. I supported her all the way. How many of you have been away from your wife for many months at a time. Or should i say wives.? Not just once but many. She spent 3 years in Japan in our early days in a vault, processing classified info., she is not allowed to talk about it. I don't ask.
If this gives you guys a hardXX , to go after my wife, you are a sad bunch. She has sacraficed more than most of you , i am sure. In fact all of you that have that kind of an attitude OBVIOUSLY haven't been in the military!!!
I hope your happy with your 9 to 5 pisss ant jobs, that all you will ever have. I will thank her , for you guys, cause i'm sure you appreciate all the military does for you.
And yea that's what separates a pig from a man, i do do house work also, when she is away on TDY trips across this country.

I tell myself that I'm not going to read your posts, they're always political, but I do. I also tell myself that I'm not going to respond to your posts, a waste of time, but here I am.

Yes I do remember the free "cheese program". We were dirt poor when I was a kid - dad had a heart attack when I was about 10 and mom sold the farm right out from under him cause he wouldn't slow down. I never could understand why my folks wouldn't accept the free commodities that were offered. Maybe that's what makes me want to pay my own way today.

We shouldn't look down on poor folks. Some of them aren't there by choice, and we're all poor by someone's standards. Not saying we should give them the farm.
