farmall m questions

I have a few questions. #1 can someone tell me where I can get the correct muffler for my farmall m. I would like a good one too, the one from the local farm store is a peace of crap. #2 what should my amp meter be reading when my tractor is running and how often should it be charging? (It has a voltage regulator also.) And lastly when the tractor is shut off, what is the noise I keep hearing from the generator? It sounds like something is turning inside it every 5 - 10 minutes, is this normal? Thanks guys.

For one thing, the Stanley mufflers. Take a rag with a little laquer thinner on it and you will have completely bare steel in one pass.

What is a good brand? And where do you get it?

Could the generator be trying to "Motor" as in a
starter-generator? It is possible for one to do
that--but then i"d look for a wireing problem,
or stuck regulator.Just guessing !

on the outside of my steel wheels - Farmall F 14---------- I have -- what looks like a chain hook-up -- do you know what it is and what it is for?

I would get a Nelson Muffler. Your Case IH can get you one, just make sure they get you a Nelson not a Stanley.

Stanley's are louder and will rust in no time.

The good reproductions are suppose to be nice as well.
