Owatonna 330-Onan Carb

Trying to get this little skid loader running better, seems to be getting too much fuel. Carb is clean as a whistle, jets work, seals good, plenty of clean fuel flow. Plugs are sooty and slighest touch of choke will make her belch black smoke. I can get it to idle somewhat good but 1/3 throttle and up runs real rough. Govener is constantly hunting. Thinking next step will be try to adjust the float. Any advice out there? Thanks!

needle and seat can be not holding and the carb could be overflowing causing a rich condition.

Does the Onan have the Plastic composite float? If it does it may be swelling up from gas additives. Need to get a brass float. It fixed my onan
