O/T Do any tractor men here use Facebook

I was talking to my son today who was saying Facebook was really good for creating something like a website and how good be thinks it is for communicating about hobbies etc. Are there any tractor guys on here who use this system. Just thought it might be interesting.
Thanks
Bill

Around 'here', it's mainly a teenager's/young adult thing; however, I do belong because of 2 groups; RHS '62 (my high school graduating class; have touched base with some folks I haven't seen or heard from in 45-plus years) and .......cousins on my Mother's side of the family; only see some of 'em at funerals and weddings.

Hi Bill. I am mostly just a lurker. Both on this website and on Facebook, but yes I do use it to keep up with friends from school and people with similiar interests. It is amazing what contacts Facebook can find for you. My name is Brian Hoffman and live in Williamsport, Md if you want to look me up. I would love to add some of you all as Facebook friends.

I am on there looking up old friends and school mates. At 45 it easier than running door to door and you don't have to put up with as much drama with some of the old friends.

Yeah... I'm on there. Just about as much as here. Good for keeping up on what's going on with friends, etc.
Dunno if I'd say it's much of a website tho. Little too much personal info there to leave it open for 'everyone' to see.

I set up a Facebook account a couple of months ago.

My purpose was to correspond/communicate with many of my much younger students since Facebook is popular with them.

It can also be a very good "reconnecting" tool because Facebook will "search" for other members that may have attended the same high school or college with you.

Several of the "messages" I've received have been from folks that I haven't seen hide-nor-hair of in 40+ years.

If your not runnin' from the law or an ex-wife, then you can catch up with what your old, and I do mean OLD, aquaintences are doing.

It can also be a very good way to keep your <s>relatives distant</s> relatives in touch.

Facebook allows you to post photos and share them with your "friends".

Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Im on it. Started as a way to communicate with friend when he was in chicago getting a new heart. Since then I have discovered that I can find folks that I had been looking for a long time. I also do farm town cause it is virtual farming that I cant loose with.

Strange you should ask, I JUST set mine up this afternoon! Swore it was not necessary, but the females in my house kept at me. Looks like it might be OK! Greg

I'm a Facebooker and a Myspacer. I keep in touch with a lot of people and friends. You can express yourself a little more with Myspace, you can be a little more creative with it. To me Facebook is more of a "keep track" of people kinda of thing. Which if you are like me and have friends and family all over the place, and no time to keep up with them, its great.

My life is complicated enough the way it is. I do not have Facebook, nor do I entend to get it.

I regularly read various advice columnists, and I swear their work load would be cut in half if Facebook didn't exist. Someone is always crying about what somebody did to them on Facebook.

I use Face book more than this website any more. I post a lot of pictures and even have an album on there.

I've seen 40 come and go and Im on FB and My Space. Myspace is really more for my photography work while FB is to keep up with friends, aquaintaces, and family. Im on it at least as much as Im on here.

none for me. if i want to get ahold of someone that is what the telephone is for. nothing beats the sound of a voice instead of computer keys. Doyle

My wife got talked into getting on Facebook by the kids and now she is on that, Farmtown and Farmville "bout all the time. She loves the farming and Facebook is a great way to keep up with all 25 grandkids as well as the 9 kids. Larry

I Have made my living all my life from bleeding edge techie stuff. But I do not twitter nor facebook.

I am on there, started earlier this year after a friend of mine sent me an invite. I have since got in touch with a lot of folks that I used to work with.

im on facebook, used to be on yearbook too but cant remember the password, i have reunited with some folks i havent seen for 35 years on there also lets my browse colledge age daughters page and quietly keep up with her , seems the first thing todays youngsters do when and if they do anything is get on there and brag about it, lol easy to bust them

I have been on facebook a while. I like if for talking to folks, it's easy to chat. I used to like Myspace much better, you can customize your profile on MS alot more, have songs that play when ever some one looks at it, have slide shows playing of your favorite pics, post blogs, just "do" more customize'n. Over the last year and a half most all my friends have moved to FB and don't use their MS any more so I moved too just to keep up with folks. I have found friends from college I had not talk to in about 10 years. Only thing I like better about FB is the chat, I use it to kill time at the night job and I have several cousins who are in college and up at all hours of the night. I talk to them more on there than I would any other way.

In our county (which is not heavily populated at all) all ages of people use facebook. I also use it to promote my chickens, beef, and pork.

Better "watch your back"!

"This week, Silicon Valley blogger Michael Arrington caused a ruckus by suggesting that Facebook itself has been turning a blind eye to the scams because it is sharing in the spoils. Arrington, who runs the influential TechCrunch blog, is on a crusade to pressure Facebook to clean up its act."
A place for teenagers, NOT for me, thank you

Hi Guys
Didnt realise it was so popular, I think I will have to go join up. The internet surly has allowed many of us with our hobbies to link up all across the world.Anyway thanks again and hope to catch up with some of you when I get organised, perhaps we can share pictures of our various collections and countryside where we live.

I've been there about a year now. Helps me keep track of my college kids. Added a cousin I haven't seen in years as a 'friend just this morning. I'm also considering putting an ad on there. 300 million users, there must be a few people that need tractor exhausts
