OT - Pygmy Goats

OK: I know this isn't tractor - but who has had Pygmy goats?
Wife and daughter have had a couple around for the past 8-10 years but now daughter wants to expand her herd!
Could always "mow" under the tractors and into the woods.

Any Ideas?

Well, I got ANGORA goats.... compared to pigmys they're fairly decent to have around. Those pigmy things are problem children from the word go!

I have had them and loved them. Problem is I couldnt keep them in. Had a 5' fence they would hop over it like deer. Never had any trouble with kids, mine were between 4 and 7.

Had a couple once and the neighbor wouldn't leave them alone (kept feeding the cause he thought I didn't have enough grass for them). They finally ruined a chain link fence and got to his side. I fixed the fence, put up a couple strands of electric and left them on his side. Haven't regretted it. If I was to get goats again, think I'd get Boer's and eat the produce (hear goat tastes real close to deer?).

However, until the neighbor got involved, they weren't much different than dogs (except they didn't get sick when they ate grass  )

I have 4 pygora nannys and a billy, no problems here. I have a good fence, 39" woven with 1 barb on bottom and 2 on top. Pygoras are 1/2 pygmy, 1/2 angora. They eat the grass and a little hay. 4 bags of sweet feed a year for treats, mostly when they have their babies. They will trim anything they can get to. Fun to watch....James
