O/T Japanese beetles (or whatever they are)

These past few warm days here in southern Illinois have brought them out with a venegenance. They attach to your clothes and come in doors with you. I have had to make my own homemade adhesive fly strips. Take a small piece of duct tape and press it to them when they attach to for instance the ceiling light. when I throw the piece away, there may be 12 - 20 bugs stuck to it.

Are you referring to the Asian lady beetles? The ones that look like orange lady bugs? Have had a lot of them here in Ohio. Have all the windows and doors closed, but they find their way in somehow. Find them below the kitchen light at night. They seem to be attracted to the computer screen too... Gene

For us they a nuisance but I know a grape operator who had a truckload of fancy wine grapes rejected because there were a lot of ladybugs in the clusters of grapes. There is no way to get them out before crushing them and they add a nasty taste to the wine. He said that ($)hurt.

have them in wested pa. also, real pain.don't seem to be attracted to computing screen though, only thing on my computing screen are old guys talking about tractors. hee hee hee

We usually get them here in the fall by the bucketful. Not so many this year, but we are having an overabundance of wasps. And as usual here in southern MO, a ton of spiders of all descriptions.

The Japanese beetles are the green shiny ones, usually around pretty heavy in July-August. What part of Ill. are you in? I have lots of relatives in Wabash Co..
