Any helpful hints to remembering everything? I have seen where DVD's are sold out there that goes over everything in detail to help out. Anybody have one of these that they would part with?

You are allowed to use a check list while doing your pretrip. If it is neat and on a clipboard it will make a good impression with the examiner.

I get all of my forms and manuals from J.J. Keller & Associates. THey have more than you want to know and the prices are reasonable.

If you are in Ohio you are in for a treat. I do not know anyone who passed the pretrip first try. I failed it the first time and i took it a few months ago before I came on harvest. If you are not sure about something mention it anyway. There is a "cheat" page in the back of the book but it doesnt help much. And don"t just say "check the tires" say "check the tires for tread depth, air pressure, chunks out of them, rocks between the duals" etc. At least thats how it was for me. Basically say what part you are looking at and the defects you are looking for. The guys from other states on the crew said that they said check the tires, brakes, and lights and a few other things and that was it for their pre trip. Here is a link to a graded Ohio CDL pre trip score sheet
