Your dog rides where?

(quoted from post at 13:32:11 10/31/09) Where does your dog ride?Front seat, back seat or in the pickup's box?
/quote]

Hey old buddy couldn't resist :D

I would think with one's brain so filled with superior knowledge, and wisdom, they would be so... preocupied with holding their head in the air and looking down their nose at us uneducated, socially inept folks, wouldn't it be safer for everyone else if [b:b0c2683130]you[/b:b0c2683130] left the dog drive? :D

The current model doesn't because he's too much of an arsehole to have in a vehicle. When I leave, he goes in the cage and stays home.
The old dog... she sat on the seat beside me or behind the seat in the tractor. The only thing she never cared for was the dozer...

Rod

Not much of dog person, havent owned one in over a decade. Now, on occassion when my cat wants to go somewhere with me she usually sits on my shoulder, lap, or in my coat.

40# Austrailian Shepherd-in my pickup up on the tool box, in the combine, with me planting corn, feeding cattle, , with me round baling, he likes to take a nap in the cab with the ac going(once, he hit the hyd. lever and I had to eject the bale too soon!), on my sc case, on my kids 200x 3 wheeler and anything that moves!

I've had times that there was a dog on each fender and one on the hood.

On long, bird-hunting trips--Iowa, Kansas, etc.--where I drive straight thru, my English setter rides in the cab. When I start to get dozy, stroking her silky hair rejuvinates me and we "just keep on truckin'". And if I do need to catch a few winks at the rest area, she keeps me warm and is always on guard duty.

Well, our older dog rides in the cab of the pickup and the younger dog rides on the roof. Jumps in the back, then on the tool box, and onto the roof. People drive by and about put it in the ditch lookin at her. Our older dog thats dead now used to ride on top of an International 510 drill. Our Farms full of ridin dogs.

If he does any riding at all...it"s in the bed of the truck.

I have never wasted any time anthropomorphizing my dog or any other critter on the place. He"s a dog....damnit! His job is keep a watch on things, kill cats and to lick the pots clean.....not ride shotgun or lay sprawled out in front of the fireplace. When not earning his keep, he has the privilege of wagging his tail and sleeping on the back porch.

Pickup box with cap for year around comfort! Or the back of wifes Jeep Cherokee. When we're both in the field, the Jeep is the lunch wagon/clothes closet/dog house. Poor old German Shepherd can't get in much by herself any more. She'll set in the back of that Jeep (with the hatch open) all day!

Sure wish you'd use something besides photobucket. Everyone braggs on your pics and I can't see them (PB is blocked on our computers)

Gotta wait til I get home.....

Dave

Little guy is in the cab , the other three trotting out front like they know where I m going .

In the front seat, tail waggin and head hangin out the window...maybe a problem here soon...she's figured out the electric windows...Bill my favorite is the pickup pic with the arm rest that is hilarious!

you got it right on Mark:
It's rare some guys think the way I do,
the dog is a dog, but some people think they are like dogs, and treat dogs like a human,

I've actuely know of some people take a dog to bed with, as far as I know, they will end up where the dog ends up when thy die, dog heaven.

there house even smells like a dog house,
keep up the good work Mark. zeke

Now Dave2,, it's just that same ole picture you took of yourself, and you want to make me believe it's me, but that won't work, cause I'm much better looking,,, ha ha ha ha ha

keep up the good work Dave2

you must be one of those dog lovers, that okay, you got to have some one to love you,,,
dogs have their place, it's just that, no one knows for sure where that is,,,,
have a nice week-end = and don't let them Ghosts get the best of ya ... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,,,

None of the above.
Made a round trip to Omaha NE and back today.
George rode where she always does.
Sometimes she'll jump down and curl up in the seat. But about 90% of the time she's on the dash.

George-1.jpg

I'll take a dog over a lot of people any day. They have an unconditional love about them that a lot of humans could copy.

usualy when on the road he rides in the cab, with the window half down, in the pickup if i drive my stake bed he wants in the back he loves the wind in his face, and to run from side to side in the bed, the truck stake bed has 4 foot sides, but i dont let him do that in the pickup as he might fall overboard if i have to swerve or stop fast, on the farm he ride wherever he wants to both tractors are open station and hes not much on riding them inless the impliment has room for him to be im a dog myself, so all our [3] get fre run of the house untill bed time when they go in a large walk in closet, this is due t omy dog actualy laying down between me and the mrs one nite then rolling on his side and pushing her out of the bed with his feet by braceing his back against me, ,[ i had him before i had her] you can imagine how well that stunt went over with the mrs, lol

In the box.The big 'ol Chocolate Lab takes up too much room in the cab of the S-10 with all the other stuff I have in there.Jim

Currently dogless. :( Last one HATED being in any vehicle. If I had to take her someplace, it was always in the truck, and she'd have her nose wedged between me and the seatback. The one before LOVED to ride in the truck. Couldn't hardly get in w/o her jumping in. Never rode, or tried to ride, in anything else though. Usually sat beside me, looking out the windshield or side window.

In the front seat with the window down about 8 inches. His long ears are flying in the air. If I let the window down all the way he will jump out. One time going up my road he saw a squirrl in the woods and jumped out after it going 30 mph. I looked in the mirror and he is going into a roll on the pavement. Next thing I see is him running after my truck to get back in. Only give him 8 inches of fresh air now. He ain't too smart but he is still my best buddy.

If you got my old farm dog excited he would go over the grill instead of the tailgate. He'd look around confused then go on over the cab. He didn't like riding on anything without some sort of sides or cab. Forget about an open tractor or the 3 wheeler, but he loved the backhoe and pickup beds. The night before grandpa's funeral I was given the night off from milking cows, so I loaded Chuck into the front of the pickup (that was a real treat for him) and went to McDonald's. He loved their fries, and I got a large order for him, but he wouldn't eat them while I was in the truck.

Buddy can't get in the back himself so he has to ride in front. Had my cousin's dog for a few weeks after she moved away, and that was a good dog. Roll the window about half way down and she stuck her nose out and stayed there. The Jack Russel would get sick so he sat where the air outlet blew on him. It was funny watching him sniff the fresh air coming in.

Iv got big ol white German sheperd ,,rides in back,,paws up on side,,standing tall thinks hes Rin Tin Tin,,only fell out 4 times,,

Good on ya', Wrigley- not too many dogs know the proper use of an arm rest.

As for me, German Shepard in the back seat (or in the box if really wet or muddy), Pomeranian on my lap. Pom got carsick the first few times- it was especially unpleasant after she had eaten cat manure when we went to get hay at the other farm.

(quoted from post at 16:16:48 10/31/09) I can't leave the dog in "drive".He has no neutral or reverse either.

That's to bad. :(

You know what, you ought to post that on here. I just bet someone could help you fix that. Maybe that Canadian engineer I hear so much about. He knows all fields of engineering, relationships, parenting, real expert on marriage and women, spelling, grammer, "The Transformers". Not one of those silly "learn by actually doing kind of guys", I mean a real "read it know it" expert kind of guy. I'm not sure but.... maybe he can help you out.
Might be read up on some new...biology, vetrinary medicine, .....animal psychology?

WTF? Joined Oct 24th 2009 and you already have formed this opinion? I dont know B&D personally, but have read his posts for years. I will grant you any post written by anyone can be offensive if not viewed with an open mind, but his posts and answers are always well thought out.

Sorry to use you here. I know you have nothing to do with this.

Yep!

I dont know B&D personally,
Neither do I, and he doesn't know me. Unfortunatly got introduced by a mutual party.

I will grant you any post written by anyone can be offensive if not viewed with an open mind,
I have no open mind when it comes to my daughter.

A lot of people think that there should be large fines for having a dog riding in the box of a pick up. I tend to agree. If you ever had to stop in a hurry or do something drastic to avoid an accident, the dog has no way to hold on and would go flying. I've seen people tie their dog up in the box. I even saw a dog on a lead sitting on an expanded metal deck behind a semi. Dogs are mans best friend. The least we can do is try to protect them. They usually protect their owners. Dave

You can always tell the "self taught types". It often displays "inbred" thinking when the source lacks diversity.

Lets see, a 20 yr old girl with minimal formal education.Has only dated one man in her entire life and was set to marry him?
Hmmmmmmm, what's wrong with that picture?

I rest my case.

Yes, as you can see all of his posts are well thought out and wise.
What would any good self respecting father do about now if someone wasn't clear off in Canada? Just a question here for all you father's out there who have had their daughters led on and used by some man, and then have to listen to his buddy carry on like this.

Sounds like you two lovers should get a room and work out your differences. Pretty childish spatting back and forth in public....

Did you ever hear of LOVE. She loved him, is that her crime? That's how us uneducated pick our spouses. Met mine when she was 17, married her at 19, had 5 beautiful children with her, and just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. Is that such a hard concept for you to grasp?

Give it a rest doug. You are polluting Kim's site with your personal vendetta. You are so full of hurt and hatred as you wait in the underbrush to leap upon your prey when they are not looking. Not an example to set for your children to follow.
I don't believe in marrying children off before they know what they want for themselves. Being age 25 and have traveled etc. Then going down the isle is not being an old maid.
A bit xenophobic there too hating other countries and cultures. Such a refined and enlightened person. Will you eat pizza because Italians, not Americans invented it?

Don't worry so much. I wouldn't dream of letting my daughter marry off until she has spent at least 5 years in college, even if she has no desire to go. I will follow you educated peoples ways and be sure she builds up a nice tens of thousands debt just to impress my friends. Then I'll be sure to take out a second morgage on my house and send her to tour Europe. What kind of father would I be if I didn't do this. What would people think of me?

Not meaning to put down anyone who can afford or want these things, my daughter doesn't. She wants you to know she is quit capable of thinking for herself. :D (standing behind me as I type).

Is daughter not able to type nor think for herself?
Daughter has no assets or skills. If she wants to sleep in a warm bed with a roof over her head and have three squares a day.Daughter has to agree with you or she's out the door on her own with nothing. Hmmmmm, lets think about what she is going to do? Agree with you?Probably for now unless she finally gets fed up and just leaves.
Daughter with no external influence or ideas is most likely going to think and act similar to the rest of the family.
A 2 or 3 yr technician program is not costly and the jobs pay well. Then again you couldn't handle having a child more educated than yourself. Such would be threatening to your ego.
As for travel, you could start off by letting her out your home county, then later out of state. With her friends no less, no hanging onto Mommy's skirt. Maybe even travel to see one of the Almighty's wonders such as Niagara Falls. An Amtrack ticket is affordable after all.
Has she ever been to the theater to either watch or act in a musical such as Annie?
Your closed mind is like a pond with no inlet or outlet. They both become stagnant and begin to stink.

You never fail to live up to your reputation. One thing [i:a4c4321299]some[/i:a4c4321299] of the most book educated lack is good sense. Keep attacking my family. That shows real sense don't you think. Did you ever get that strange feeling that someone might be useing you to expose to her daughter her boyfriend's real face. (Couldn't tell there seemed to be more than one.) To see what he associates with and what he has been saying behind her back. To bad he didn't tell her his high opinion of her before...
Kind of speaks for itself doesn't it.

You have accused us all of being uneducated, and in the women of this houses case, idiots and slaves. (THOSE WERE YOUR WORDS)

You do realize [b:a4c4321299]you have been talking to a women[/b:a4c4321299] all this time. Yes, one of those silly uneducated housewife, mother types. You know tears, hormones, all that undesireable stuff. You know the type, down to the real world, raise the kids, pay the bills, find money out of the air. Don't try to mock the wealthy.

My daughter WILL NOT WORK TO SUPPORT SOME MAN, WHO THINKS HE CAN MAKE LESS THE $30,000.00, AND AFFORD TO POP OUT HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS ON AN ANTIQUE TRACTOR HOBBY. She would have used tractors to plant something to sell. She has her mind in the land of reality.(maybe I can send her off to be "Dumbed Down" by the rest of the flaky women who let the men treat them like "Bumpy Men" I'm so sorry to break the news to ya B&D, but us little uneducated working folks DO make it pretty well in this world. We just have to be smart enough to make the best of what we have.
Well Brandon your silence is golden here. Sit at our table, eat our food, enjoy our hospitality. Don't date people you don't like. OK[b:a4c4321299][/b:a4c4321299]

You and your family certainly feel threatened and inferior to the "educated and wealthy". Fighting and criticizing them at every opportunity.
Perhaps we should have some self taught types designing your vehicles, buildings, public transportation, national defense and performing medical health care.
As for the wealthy, who do you think pays the bulk of the taxes to pay for the services you need/enjoy but do not fund your share. Have a look at the church books too. Who do you think donates the bulk of the cash for missions etc? It's the people who work hard, work smart and have personal discipline.
Could you learn to get along instead of attacking everybody who makes you feel "small". How about getting out there and broadening your horizons so you will not feel so threatened? Oh yes, it's easier to just sit back, feel sorry for yourself and criticize.
Pride? It's rare to find somebody as yourself so proud to be self taught, poor, simple, humble socially inept, little uneducated working folks.
If daughter spent 1/10 of the time broadening her horizons that she spends cyber stalking her ex and associates. She could do pretty well for herself.
End of my remarks for this thread. I feels like wrestling with a pig.Everybody gets dirty and the pig likes it.

Thanks again Brandon. We hadn't been beat on in a while. Hold your head up high there. He's talking about you too ya know!

Hey Buick, you really are very entertaining, but I think I'll go on with all that life stuff, and leave you here to spend your every waking moment. Your wife and kids don't want or need you around? No tractors to work on?

Brandon,

There are two ways to acheive self-respect and dignity.

One way is to judge yourself by how others see you. That makes you a slave to whatever the world thinks you should be today. That makes you foder to your "buddies" needs, or how your admiration makes them feel. (Kind of like a dog chasing it's tail)

The other way to gain self respect and dignity is to daily try to live up to what YOU want to be. That will not get you alot a praise from others, but it gives you a peace that the world will never give you.

That is what the best relationships are based on: whether it be marriage, or friendship.

In a marriage a good woman will love you enough to support you to be the man "you" can respect not be a slave to others.

In a marriage a good man will love her enough to support the woman to be the lady "she can respect.

Now I know who that respectable family man was who was giving you advice. Loving someone enough to see past their shortcomings.......
Seeing their good qualities......... Wanting them to be free to be themselves..... Or at least what they thought was...........Making them face the realities of life.......... Does not mean they were taking advatage of you. Maybe others just feel threatened. What self respect and dignity would be left them, if they could not get it from your admiration.

I said this all before, but I think it bears repeating. When people like Buick have spent all their lives chasing their tails. It's like I told you before "People who live there lives for praise and admiration, not for there own self respect" become deeply offended when anyone does not admire their stuff. If you don't want what they have, if your not jelous, if you find worth in a man's character, (this matters not if he is a janitor, or a doctor), they are left with nothing. That, Mr. Buick, is how we acheive our sense of worth (not pride) as you put it.

(B&D I have kindly left you some spelling errors to correct, you have missed a few in the past. Look close!)
