We had our twin three year old grandkids over the other day a boy, and girl. The boy would not come in to pee in the pot, and would wet his pants. I told my wife I will show him just to go behind a bush to take a leak. My wife being a city girl and had no brothers thought that was the most digusting thing she herd of. I thought it was a good idea. I guess he will need to learn that one from his dad. Stan

Been there with my boys... my wife also a city girl who didn't have brothers.
I taught the boys how to go in the woods when we would be outside.
Several years back, when coming out of the kindergarten christmas play we turned to find our youngest "watering" the bushes right outside the front steps of the church as we all exited.
Guess that's what dads are for... passing on habits good and bad.

Had kind of the same experience- took son, age 4 or so, to new daycare place- its rural, with brush and trees along the edge of the lawn, so a natural place for when "nature calls". Turned his back to everyone and stepped into the bushes. The other kids run into the building and tell the nanny "Guess what the new kid is doing!"

Nanny, to her credit, handled it well- she explained to the others that Brian lived on a farm, and often you are far from the house, so that's how its done. Then gently explained to Brian that it was probably best to just use the bathroom when one is close. Everyone ran off to play, and it was soon forgotten.

Odd, after Grandpa had to give up farming and had his land rented out he had a sale of equipment and whatnot that drew quite a crowd. Big enough, and enough more than they ever expected to have there, (and too late to order up a porta-john) that the auctioneer announced at the start where the bathroom in the house was located for the ladies, and tactfully suggested that the men use the bushes if possible to avoid overloading the septic.

Myself, each time I've relocated, srategically located shrubbery has been a consideration in selecting my next home, urban, suburban or rural.

My Grandfather always told me:
God only made so many perfect people.
Everyone else must sit down to pee!!!!!

2 and 3 year olds are fun. i asked my nephew [brothers son ] one day were he got his curly hair? he gave me no answer . I filled him in numorous times that he got it from the mail man???One day at daycare, you guessed it ,someone asked about his curly hair.My sister inlaw had gotten a phone call, she even thought it was funny . GOT TO ENJOY THEM JD530

When the first of my nephew was almost three, someone from the Sunday school came into the church and got my sister-in-law. It seems little Justin had been caught taking the pants off a little two-year-old girl. Now I can get my back up a little bit about all this, as there was no small measure of tut-tutting about his actions.

Of course, though, the sister-in-law bought into all this and was mortified. "Justin! Why did you take that little girl's pants off?"

Justin, who may not have even know that there was anything wrong up to this point, looked at his mom and said, "She needed changin'."

What about the little feller who pee'd in the display toilet at the lumberyard. Caused a minor stir and a few chuckles.

My younger brothers used to go behind the garage and see who could make the highest mark on the cement block wall.

Crem, always thought only Ky boys competed to see who could pee the highest. Wrong again.

When I was a kid while working in the haymow and had to pee I would find a knothole in the weatherboarding, worked fine, just be careful for splinters.

There's an old story about the courting teenagers; girl's Dad calls boy's Dad the morning after the boy had been over to visit the night before; "Your boy's name is written in the snow just off my front porch." Boy's father, "Well, you know boys will be boys; why would that upset you so much?" Girl's father, "Don't you think I recognize my own daughter's handwriting?"
