JD D ??? is it bigger or smaller than a G

I forget- and it doesn't say the size in any of the mag's. is it bigger or smaller than the G and what was the years of mfg ?? thanks

same tractor h.p. wise. was one of the longest produced tractors for like around thirty years.

thanks for the info-- but there must have been a difference-- was it older, newer or other and how about size other than HP I have never seen one around here.. thanks

The D is was older, entering production in 1923 while the G didn't appear until 1937. The D is a standard-tread (aka regular, wheatland) tractor while the G is row-crop.

The D had 500 cu.in motor, the G had 414 I think.

Depends on the year. The D started out with 465ci, went up to 501ci. The G was 412ci.
