sheet steel thickness

I am looking to buy some 9 or 10 gauge steel sheets but the places I have called only have sheets in fractions of a inch.

I think both 9 and 10 gauge falls between 5/32 and 1/8 but I am not sure.
Can some one confirm this or convert 9 and 10 gauge to fractions for me.

Thanks.

9 gauge steel flat = .1495"

10 gauge steel flat = .1345"

1/8" = .125"
9/64" = .140625"
5/32" = .15625"

I would have thought that 10 guage would have been .10" and that it would have taken 10 sheets to equal an inch and on 28 guage steel roofing it would have taken 28 sheets to make an inch. The chart posted I have printed of for later use.
