I guess I missed this on the nightly news. Looks as if Puerto Rico is no longer a possision. I hav a new Puerto Rico state quarter in hand.

Ya Iv gotten couple ofn myself. Ask girl at bank when it became a state. Didnt know. Guess I missed it too.

Get ready for American Samoa, the Virgin Islands, Guam and the Marianas. I understand DC (who could forget them!) is already out. The Mint has made so much money on the 50-state coins that they decided and got permission to extend it to the territories.

Different, but kind of like the post office and commemorative stamps. They actually make money, since they sell the stamps knowing that a lot of them will go into stamp collectors' albums and they'll never have to incur a cost in handling a letter.

What a country, eh?

No US rep, no senators, but Woodrow Wilson 'gave 'Puerto Rican Islanders' US citizenship. The next piece of paper he signed was to draft 1 or hopefully 2 divisions of those new citizens for the war against Germany. Beware of nnalert bearing gifts.... haven't herd much about Samoa after the tsunomi, not even a proper death toll was there?
