PTO Stock

I need to fix my PTO shaft on my new idea one row picker. I need a piece of steel stock with an inner diameter of 1" * 1 1/8" to weld to the universal that's on the picker, and can't find it anywhere. (This will replace the original female part of the shaft that was 1" * 1".) I even asked the local steel shop if they could get it and they said no. Is this stuff that hard to find, or are they just lazy because it is too small an order? Anybody know where else I can go? I'm in N.E. Illinois.

Part number 1987 from any auto parts store that handles Precision universal joints. 72 inches long.
