Got our Case 585 running today after sitting for 2 years. The tank was flaking apart and clogging up the lines. I finally got the tank out several months ago and got it coated. Got it back in earlier this week, finished up hooking up the lines today after having troule locateing some fittings. Filled up with with fuel cracked the bleeder screws on the fuel filters, charged the battery while i cleaned up everything, 3rd crank she fired right up. Slowly pulled it out, had 2 flat tires, made it through one muddy mess to the compressor and got them filled up. I'm going to give it a good bath tomm to get all the junk off of it from sitting. Only thing i noticed is that the loader seems to be slow to lift up. How do you check the level of hydraulic fluid in this tractor? I'm sure it could use a fluid change.

Now that you've got that one off the list, you'll have 2 more things added to it very shortly. Seems to be the way it goes around here atleast. Just got the 1855 put together, waiting to see what's next to appear...

Yep, just added some new things to the list such as changing the hydraulic fluid on the loader. (its so low its not registering on the dipstick) so i figured its time or a fluid change anyways along with filter.

There is one dipstick for the entire trans/hyd system, by your left foot. Filler is the large pipe plug near the SMV & top link mount.

If it's that low, filter and fluid change is best...good time as any. Loader would be slow with no fluid! Filter & fluid etc relatively easy to do on these tractors.
