got it home..

Hey folks,
Sorry I couldn't take many pics of the trip. The way there was too foggy and the way back was just too tricky. Real nice area, just dreary today. 7 and a half hours on a road full of idiots. Cold, foggy, and windy from passing vehicles. Couple pics where I could swing it;

Halfway point leaving farmland and going into a state forest.

Other side of the forest and starting into grape country and the baler after I got it home.

Nice looking baler; won't need any oven cleaner on this one!

Your day long tractor tour was worth it.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

Keep sending us pics from over there. Always neat to see different things. From the sounds of your previous posts you are over there for employment. Have you bought ground while over there or just renting? What does rent/purchse go for?

Thanks for the pics Dave. Is Welger related to New Holland ? Just going by the general looks and the colors they could be related.

Belongs to us and the bank (almost even now). We have a couple places (little over 1/2 acre each) that we bought and have several pieces (8 or so acres total) rented. Purchase price for crop land is between $1.20 and $3. a sq meter. We got ours for 1. Rent we pay is from free to 60 bucks an acre per year. And we get plenty of grass given to us for cutting/gathering from orchards.

I am sure this is an ignorant question, but I am wondering whether
there is a flywheel on that baler, or if it somehow doesn't need
one? I have never seen a small square baler without one, so I
wondered.

Fly wheel can be seen in two of the pictures. It is on the left hand side of the baler,just in font of the wheel. Under the brand decal WELGAR. Half of it can be seen underneath.

Thanks, I can't believe I didn't think to look for it in other areas than on the front. I guess it goes to show I can't see what I'm not smart enough to look for.

You were in the decent wine and sucky beer country. I'm in the good beer and sucky wine country. Schweinfurt about 180 miles East and North.
