Reappearing Tractor Ads

I have seen the same tractor ads reappearing over the last year. It is on here, CraigsList and almost every ad site I visit. Don't these guys understand that their tractor is too high priced or is it that they just don't really want to sell them? I guess they want a "BaleOut". Maybe there should be a government sponsored program?

Well, Jed I have to agree with you but what amazes me is they bring that junk from their back woods lot back to pg 1 every day or so. I also guess the Canadians think we're made out of money.
That being said I do see some that it appears people are needing to get rid of and seem to be priced at what I consider reasonable. The biggest problem with some is transportation is out of sight so its difficult to make a buy that requires much hauling.

I agree , there have been some sweet deals on photo ads in the last 4 months if'n it wasn't for the trucking costs. When you are talkin' a $1800 -$2500 tractor , the shipping puts it back up in the "not so sweet" area. And you will never recover that cost either.

My probem is people backing out of deals. They send my check back if they get a better offer,or remove the add and a couple weeks later relist it at a higher price. One guy told me the price in his photo add was a misprint and blamed YT.So,i don't even bother with the out of state adds anymore,i'll do without.

Talking heads on the tv say every night about how bad every thing is. From what I have seen in the local adds only folks really hurting are the ones with a boat. Every thing else ain't come down much the last 2 years. With 100s of folks in the area loss'n their job every week you'd think folks would start come'n off their play pretties but I ain't seeing it.

I think some guys' wives insist they have too many tractors and tell the guy to sell some.

So, he goes through the motions of putting one or more on the market at a price he thinks no one will pay. And if someone does buy at his price, he made a bunch of money.

I have noticed something else that keeps reappearing ever so often on this site. That is post that complain about guys wanting too much for their old tractors.

i have one i had on here and craigs list half dozen time and it hasent sold i dont think i want to much for it just hasent been seen by right buyer

I will add that i have seen ads go for a long time before you get an inquiry. Some items are hard to sell and it takes awhile to find a buyer. Its not all price.

goose is probably the most correct here, some guys have wives who hate trators, why they still have the wife is a mystery but by posting a add for the tractor asking 4 or 5 times what the thing is worth he is" trying to sell it" to please the wife, at the same time he gets to keep his tractor, if some fool actually pays his price he can easily replace the tractor, using the phrase, " see i told you i could make money doing this" the wife cant argue that the last one made money and clomps off to leave him alone, then theres the guy who simply thinks old tractors are like old cars on the barrett jackson auction, and are worth 25 times the price of new if they have been "restored" not getting the point that old tractor folks are a completly different kind of people, they do it because they like the old machines for some its the memories of their yonger days some, its theropy after a long day of stress at work its nice to do somethig simple with simpler problems to solve, ect

ha i think goose is right. Its a win win. I think there are a lot of tractors posted for sale in the photo ads that people have no interest in selling. They just put a high price on it to see if they can make money on it. You cant blame people for that. But going through the ads everyday it does get old when you see the same tractor over and over and over.
