OT- Hot tub electrical question

I am working on a friends hot tub and am not getting electric to the switch's. The electric goes into 2 120V 30A contactors but I get nothing coming out the other side of them. Could someone explain the way that these contactors work? Thanks

For safety reasons. I can't get comfortable with somebody who doesn't know how contacters to work. To be mixing 120/240 with people sitting in water.
I would be surprised if it's a 120V/30A system. More likely a 240V pump and 240V heater.
Is this thing plugged into a 120V wall outlet?
Is there a GFI breaker supplying this entire situation?

If you don't know what you are doing around electricity PLEASE don't mess with a hot tub!

That being said, likely the contactors have low voltage coils, maybe 5 or 12 Volts, and are operated by the electronic control board.

The board could have failed or perhaps the LV power supply to the control board has failed.

The contactors most likely are labeled with the coil voltage.

Our hot tub and dishwasher both have surface mounted buttons to operate. There is no electricity in the buttons on the surface, rather the buttons are small pistons with a tube connecting them to a pneumatic contactor mounted in a remote, safe, dry location.

A push of the button supplies air pressure to operate the contactor to engage the unit, another push rotates the contactor back to the off position.
