Is there a standard pattern for wiring a seven prong plug?

Yes there should be a dia that will show how to wire the plug. Is the plug the male or female. My truck came with the female installed and when i bought the trailer it matched with correct lites and brake connections.

Looks like there are a couple standards. ASME and RV for 7 pin. My Ford came new with a plug that had the connections marked on it so I matched my trailers to it.

This is only for a 7 way RV connector, not a standard 7 way connector. A 7 way RV connector has straight blades and is what is installed on most pickups. A standard 7 way connector has round pins and is normally used on tractor trailers and any kind of a tag-a-long trailer, like a 9, 12, or 20 ton pintle hitch.
