Does anyone out there want a used senator from Maine that DOES NOT realize which party she was elected from. How about You guys in NY state. Olimpia can move there for 6 months to be a resident. She can'nt be any worse than Hillery. We up in Maine will not miss her at all.

We had the same situation with Chuck Hagel here in Nebraska. At least when his term expired he saw the writing on the wall and disappeared.

No such luck Goose. She must think her seat is real safe and with the bleeding hearts we have up here she may be,but what a opening for some one to run against her.

I thought we had the market cornered on those types here in NY state but I guess not.

(Com'on, 34mot. Time to crank up your "whine machine.")

Well,I tried to reply. Guess the filters hated me! Kicked me out and I couldn't even get back on the site until I retyped the address. Live and learn.

I read an article where the author congratulated her for not ''kowtowing'' to her constituents and that is the real problem -- she probably never worries about doing what the people who elected her want her to do until a few months before the next election. Every single Senator and Congressman or woman needs to be booted to the curb when they run again and keep them changed out every cycle.

I think she is you guys problem. From what I read she was re-elected with 78% of the vote so someone wanted her.
And the author didn't congratulate for not "kowtowing" to her constituents but to her party.
I disagree with her but, that's my position.

I think she has the biggest ones in the state. You can be stupid all your life and follow party lines or try to fix the crap.

The article I read said constituents -- not party. Though I'm sure someone praised her for that as well.

Send her a nasty gram email.

Go to the NRAILA.org website and contact her.
She is from Maine.

Stupid Wench.!

Hey tlak, how about a truly novel idea, our elected representatives could read and comprehend the Constitution of the United States of America and then they would understand the limitations on their allotted powers. They would not be meddling with healthcare and or roughly 90% of the rest of the so called ''legislation'' that fleeces the productive to buy votes from the lazy. I'm talking about both parties.

Makes Wisconsin with Baldwin and Fiengold seem normal- at least they are outright nnalert. Obey has at least got seniority and does help out voters like Aspin used to instead of playing liebural games. 2010 and 2012 going to be interesting. RN.

I don't think you can have a much worse case of "buyer's remorse" than those of us in Indiana's 9th congrsssional district had. In 2004, after years of nnalert representatives, voters like me voted for nnalert Mike Sodrel, a wealthy entrepreneur, and elected him, expecting "change."

Three months in office, his first "official" act as Congressman was to hold a fundraiser for his 2006 campaign! The fundraiser included an appearance by VP Dick Cheaney, and the Sodrel campaign left the local community ["taxpayers"] on the hook for the added expense of the security for the VP. This from a guy who ran as a conservative, who allegedly wanted to get government's hand OUT of the taxpayer's pocket.

And to this day, "Millionaire Mike" STILL can't figure out why he wasn't re-elected in 2006. When you promise the voters one thing, and than act in exactly the opposite fashion, the voters have a DUTY to make sure they toss you out of office.

Come on LAA, you can't expect our leaders in DC to have time to read that long boring Cosntitution thing. They have all them 1,000+ page bills to read overnight before they vote on them. Then they have all them lobby groups and all them all them fund raisers to go to. They have to get in a few rounds of golf a week to stay in shape. You can not expect them to read and understand the Constitution too.

Done being sarcastic. They all should be shot of the grounds of treason and we should start over with a new crop.

Everybody's a constitutionalist now, what's the wording in there that backs up what you're saying?
Where were you when Bush violated every part of it?
Recently spent a little time at the hospital and the health care workers there didn't like their health insurance.

Where in the Constitution, does it say that our health care is to be sponsored by the federal government?

Does it say that it shouldn't be?

I don't think "health care" was even an issue when the Constitution was written. At least not in the sense we think of today.

The Consitution gives no power to our government besides that which is expressly defined in words that are understandable to anybody with a lick of common sense (if they take the time to read it).

I agree,... so how is it, that governmental sponsored health care is going to get crammed down our throats (by a government that has no power do do such a thing)???????????

As you can plainly see, the Consitution specifically says our government is to "promote" the general welfare of the people,... NOT to "dictate" general welfare, or to pentalize those who don't subsribe to a "government sponsored" health plan with threats of "fines and imprisonment".

Look in your dictionary for the definitions of "promote" and "dictate", they are NOT simular.
