Rubber Repro Parts Poor Quality

Two years ago I purchased a new reproduction tie-rod and ball joint for my Oliver 77 Row Crop the rubber around the joint is more badly cracked than the others which are 50+ years old. About three years ago I purchased new rubber shocks for the seat. They are the type that twist, or torque as one sets on the seat. These too are now badly cracked and may last only a few years longer. These items have not been exposed to direct sunlight. I just bring this up to point out how poorly this reproduction rubber is on imported parts.

Ten four on that one! I bought a reconditioned seat for the 630 a few years ago and the rubber torsion springs tore apart right away. Called the rebuilder and he replaced them for free, but one rubber tore apart shortly after that. I now have a wooden block under the seat to hold it up to the right height. I'd like to replace the rubbers myself but I'm afraid of getting junk again.

This tractor is never in the sun unless it's being used. Jim

I got one of those rubber torsion springs for my ford last spring and after about 30 hours it tore and failed.

Same thing here.Replaced 40 year old tie rods on my JD 4020 with aftermarket ones. Rubber covers rotted off first year. Took them apart and put 40 year old rubbers on new tie rods.
