The I&T manual covers that adequately.

Take the fan blade off, the fan belt off. The upper hose off, three or four bolts and you have the water pump loose. Put it all back. You might have to press the pulley off and on or its flange, depending on who rebuilt or made the replacement pump.

Implements and Tractors Publishing Company. Runs about $22 at farm stores or on line for several tractors per volume. Its a decent basic repair manual, poor on daily maintenance, not nearly as good as the factory shop manuals which are 50 times as thick and the factor parts books which are as thick as the factory shop manuals. Probably all are available from this YT site.

Thanks again Gerald, got the new pump, got the old pump out, is there a special trick to pressing/ heating the pulley on and off?
tks

I don't remember and the I&T book says nothing. But looking at the pictures: After you take off the conical pulley shroud, there is the pulley with a flange. To get it off the old pump you need to support the flange and push the shaft out with a hydraulic press. No heat, no banging. Then when you push the pulley on the new pump, you need to support the other end of the shaft. You don't want to push against the bearings or the casting. They most certainly will break. Be sure to note the clearance between the pulley and the pump, better the pump mounting surface so you push to the right place. If you don't have a hydraulic press, a good engine or farm machinery repair shop will have one and be practiced in changing water pump pulleys for a few bucks.

Even wrong color shops can do it.
