Tractor Tire

Other than going to a tire dealer that also changes tractor tires is there any good way of breaking the bead on a rear tractor tire

Thanks

Its not that hard to do. Just get several large cold chisels or such and a big hammer. Leave the wheel mounted on the tractor is better than off.

I use the downforce of a front-end loader and a short piece of 4x4. This technique only works if the loader tractor isn't the one with the bad tire.

Dunno how big your tire is. Mine are smaller - 13.6X28. I just drive my pickup up onto the tractor tire as close to the rim as I can. Sometimes have to rotate the tire and drive on it again.
Have broke down even rusty old rims/tires that way many times.

I just used the front rack of weights on another tractor to push against the bead on a 18.4x38 tire on a JD 4320 a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly.

Don't know whether that was smart & efficient or lazy & dangerous, but it worked like a charm! :)

I had the inner tube changed and aired up within an hour working by myself.

With the CORRECT tool it is pretty easy to brake them down. I own 2 of them and do most of my own tires from truck to tractor to even lawn mower. With a tire hammer and some soapy water and the know how they are pretty easy to brake down

i use a handy man jack on the inside of tier i put it against the 3 point or drawbar barcket for those that dont have a 3 point on the outside i put it against another tractor or truck whatever is handy there that will hold the force best thing i found so far works real good on old hard tires that even the tire guys struggle with when they have the proper tools

Front tire on the pickup works the best. Pull up on the edge of bead and turn steering wheel to run truck tire on around rim short ways and bead will pop off. Apply a small layer of Dow Corning silicone lube to bead all the way around before reassembly and bead will break away very easily next time you have to break it down.
