It might depend on the laws you have. In that picture I can not tell how many points are on each side. In my state they have to have 4 points on one side and they have to be an inch or longer to be a shooter

As my neighbor would say "if its brown put it down"
too many deer in our area doing to much damage to crops. Our other neighbor complains about anyone that would shoot at a buck with less than ten points but he doesn't farm at all.

I'd guess him at 3 1/2 years. Nice, but imagine what he could be at 5 1/2. That's why there are so very few real shooters. No patience.

Never knew Missouri had such a law.

Here in Iowa if you have a either gender tag, naturally you can shoot any deer you want.

If you have doe only it better not have more than little buttons on it.

How do you tell an inch long or not from 100 yards?

Ya this law has only been around a few years. It is so the bucks have a chance to grow bigger and if what I shoot last year say any thing it is working. I got a 9 pointer with bow and a 10 pointer with my 44 mag pistol last season

That is kind of strict rules to follow. Your state herd must be in check.

We have so many deer here we are allowed to shoot 6 per year on private land. 3 of them can be does and 3 must be bucks. To be a legal buck it only needs 1 button broken threw the skin. Any buck without a visable antler (broken threw the skin) can be taken in the place of a doe.

We have lots of deer it is just that they want the bucks to be mature before they are taken. As for does we can take as many as we have tags for and we can pretty much buy as many tags as we want and we can also buy them as we fill them so if I shot one and fill that tag I can then go in and buy another tag and shot another one the next day till I either run out of hunting time or money

No doubt about it,he's a handsome fellow. Real interesting to hear how regulations differ among the states. Texas landowners are divided over deer and feral hogs reminiscent to earlier sheep growers and cattle growers. One side is selling animals for unheard of prices while the other side has their meadows, crops, ponds, fences and gardens destroyed by the animals. As you might expect, the politicians are following the money in adopting laws. One example is that since the hogs are often mixed with the russian boar(an exotic) that was imported to the shoot for a fee operations, you must have hunting license unless you own the land where you shoot or trap them. This is in addition to aoudad sheep, axis deer, sika deer, fallow deer nilgai and the other nonindigenous animals that cross property lines and are increasing their populations. The only question is whether it will be settled with fists,in a court of law or with the rifles that hang in all the back windows of thier trucks. So if any you get a job offer to work on a Texas farm, you might ask for a job discription before you come down.Ha Ha ha
