Has anyone else ever tried this? Looking at my H Farmall, it appears it would be possible to fabricate a mount to place a hydraulic pump on the left frame rail in front of the governor and run it off the main fan belt.

The belt would have to straddle the lower radiator hose, but that's no big deal. My only concern would be that the belt would need to be run tight enough to be detrimental to the water pump. If it would work, it would be an easy way to get live hydraulics.

This is a 400. Disassemble the hand crank mechanism and push in the crank sleeve.

I fitted a 7" pulley and wedge type bushing. You will probably have to settle for a 6" pulley. They are available at any industrial bearing house.

This is a Borg-Warner clutch pump. It is live power with the convenience of on/off selectability. A regular pump would do you fine.

The pump is currently running a IH balanced head mower being used as a hedge clipper.

Looks like a really good set-up to trim hedges. How high can you lift it? Lots better than the two guys with a push type rotary mower and two 2x4's wired across the deck--HA,HA. Actually read about them trying that idea. One fool isn't hard to find, but two of them at once?

Does your tractor have a Magneto? A pump is
available that goes between the Magneto and
the Magneto mount..it bolts on.

12' on a horizontal cut. 19' on a vertical cut.

Quite a setup, Wardner!

I'll look into the possibility, also, of putting a dual pulley on the crankshaft. In the years I've owned that H, I've never had a need to use the hand crank, anyway. In fact, I'm not even sure I have one.
