Hay Tedder?????

I have a kuhn 2 basket tedder. I have used it several times so far this year. My question is do you set it up to have the front angleddown or should it be level from front to back. I currently have it angled down when in use. I use it on the draw bar and if Itry to raise it up much the arms hit underneth the tounge. I could use a draw bar on the 3 point hitch but I dont know if the pto shaft would be able to go underneth the draw bar. Any advice.

Front angle down .It should be set so it picks up all the hay but doesn't scratch up the dirt.

I run our kuhn behind an old 8N, 3PTH. The shaft runs over the draw bar. I do use stabars to keep from hitting the drive shaft.

Devin,Where I live, with the moisture in the ground, I need to ted every square foot at least twice. On ground with moisture in it your tractor tires are going to press some of the hay down when mowing so it is very important to have your tedder just scratching the surface as others have said. In order to do this you need to adjust with only the adjustment on your tedder and not with your tractor lift.

I always do it with front end angled down, so it throws the hay up in the air behind and spreads it out better. If I run mine level (Deutz Fahr), it's almost like raking, and doesn't spread the hay out well.

Is this a 3pt or drawbar unit? Have a Kuhn GF22N here.

3pt: shorten or lengthen your top link, drawbar, adjust the crank so the tines just graze the stubble between the tractor and tedder and pick up all the hay you are driving over. For 3 pt Remove or swing your draw bar out of the way if you are hitting the PTO shaft. I would not use a 3pt drawbar...those things should be banned.
