I need to go about 100 miles to pick up 15 squares of shingles. How much does a square of shingles weigh? I can"t get ahold of my roofing guy to ask him this so I thought you guys would help. I am trying to decide if I need to take a trailer or if my 3/4 ton pickup will handle it. Thanks.

Gary got the wt. 3600 I haul 16 sq.20 mile or less 100 mile I would take trailer especially if you need felt and misc.remove tailgate if you take truck only so they can fork em in and slide em close to front I am a roofer and have done it many times

I put Jumbo split shakes on my house in Salinas, Ca after i sold it they about 5 or 6 years old and the new owners friend who was a roofer told him he needed a new roof. I told him he wouldn't live long enough to replace those shakes.
I think his friend saw a sucker.

I do not see where you say what type of shingle. In the standard 3 tab there is 3 bundles per square while the more decorative type some of them are 5 bundles to the square and a wood shingle would still be different in weight. Without knowing the type of shingle no one can give you a good answer.
