Saw a few pictures on another site and thought I would share them with you guys.

The first is a timber rattler that a guy killed in his yard just north of Mobile Ala. The second is a cotton mouth that got washed offshore. Guy said he was 65 miles out in the Gulf when he took this picture and this snake was still alive.

I hate any snake. The only one that I like is a dead one . But I guess that they serve a useful purpose with mice and rats . Problem is they want to go most of the time where they are not wanted , like in a house.

I just killed 2 water mochs near the house with a 20Gage. Unfortunately most of the neighbors were still up. The first one I nearly stepped on.

The top picture the snake still has his head. I would remove it just to be sure he was dead. As for the second snake he will probably starve, not too many rats 65 miles out. stan

I can tell ya this, after I got done killing a rattler that size, I"d have to change my shorts, before taking any pics.

cottonmouth will eat small fish, turtles, etc. They only need to eat 4-5 times a year. He prolly be alright til he washes ashore or something eats him.

i'm with bendee, farmer,...you sure it was mowing the yard ?? although i did see a horse fly once >>>LOL

Only problem with me is I can't see any damage to the rattler. How did they kill it? So I question that one.
The other one could be used for the Lock Ness monster?

By God"s grace, we have seen only 4 poisonous snakes at the farm. Two of them lost their "argument" with the tractor, one died very quickly after being introduced to a hoe and the other one was smart enough to head for someplace else fast.

We have a "resident" black snake that we see frequently around the house and shop. Still gives me a start when I see it, but it"s a smart snake, when you get close it leaves.

Copperheads are bad news. We have a friend that lives in town and one of her golden retrievers got bitten on its face by a copperhead. The vet did all he could, but the bite caused so much tissue damage, she eventually lost the dog.

I'll believe a snake mowing the yard when pigs fly. Of course, I hear them talking about the swine flew every day. :)

I am not snake expert, but I don't think that rattler is a timber. I killed one just like that the other day and we google searched it and found it to be a cane brake rattler. the difference is that stripe down its spine. Look for yourself in google and post your opionions too.

Snakes in the house, around the house, up the road, down the road, in a vehicle, out of a vehicle, anywhere, etc., etc. are good! They're really cool. I love them. We needed more of them rather than the four legged kind in the Garden of Eden. (Yep, I'm serious)
