Any one scared of frost?

I have been reading and hearing that the only reason the corn and bean prices have not gone down more is that weather models are showing a frost in parts of the northern corn belt in the next week or so. Is any one on here sweat'n frost yet? In 03 we had a frost here about the 3rd of October, that is the earliest I can recall. Hope it's a little later this year. My beans have not even started to yellow yet, still filling pods.

Here in southwestern Ontario, a lot of crops still need 3 weeks frost free to mature, Possibly more considering that it takes 2 good days this time of year to do what 1 nice day in August does (as far as maturity). We are 2 weeks away from our average 1st frost date, but have some years made the end of October without one. Even crop that went in on time is delayed by all the wet, cloudy , cool weather we had in June and July. Nothing we can do now but wait and see!

Thats the way we are here. About 10 or 20% of the corn around here was planted at normal time, well alot more was planted the first time then over half the corn here got disked up and replanted. Most of the time folks start poke'n around trying to shell corn the last week of August. People just started testing out the combines here in the last week or so. Coldest and wetest July and August any one can recall really set things back a ways.

Here in NW Iowa a frost next week might hurt some of the later corn, but the early varieties of corn (99 day to 103 day) that were planted the last of April should be fairly safe. The soybeans will be OK. A few early beans are being harvested here now.

Went to east central North Dakota last weekend and they need a lot more time before frost. I hope they get a late fall. Jim

there's a frost warning tonight near binghamton, ny. corn is mostly dough stage, beans just starting to turn. everything needs more time.

we still need 2 or 3 weeks before a killing frost.
i did see a field of beans that is starting to get some color and has lost a few leaves. i think these beans went in late april.
i was talking to a man last night who said his son had tried to chop some corn for silage but is to green and to much water in stalks.
the man that rents my corn ground said he had never planted corn in so much mud but he had to get started. conditions got worse by end of may when rain is usually starting to slow down.
lot of corn and beans went in ground in june some as late as june 15. i'm sure that was a shorter season corn. i was told shorter season became hard to get.

I'm ready for some frost to kill some 'skeeters and weeds!

Central NE: Crops mostly done, some very late replanted corn in milk and green beans need time yet.

Some hailed corn being picked now. We will start Monday if it does not rain. Hand testing at 22% to 28%.
