jd la with a belly mower??? never seen one

was chatting with an old farmer buddy yesterday at the shop. got to talking about mowers. you see a lot of i-h, allis, small case tractors with woods belly mowers under em, but rarely a deere. never seen an la with a belly mower. he couldnt remember ever seeing one either, and he is in his 70's. make ya go hmmm.

Woods lists undermount mowers for lots of JD tractors but not for the LA. Although their website does say to check with your Woods dealer for more complete listings of John Deere tractors. Their picture shows one on a JD B. Our county used to have a bunch of LAs with midmount side sickle bar mowers. I thought they were neat. Especially how they could cut at a near vertical angle.

Woods operators manual suggests that excessive belt flopping may be caused by a two cylinder engine!

people a couple houses down had one back in the 60's (maybe before)-80's when the house sold
mowed the yard every week with it
