olivers/whites and post drivers

I have no clue what your post driver is. Around here posts and post drivers are like winning lottery tickets. However remember a 50 series Oliver has OPEN center hydraulics and a 2-105 has CLOSED center hydraulics. Can you explain more about the driver? Are we talking valves, motors, both or none of the above?

Probably the 50 series Oliver would be best. You need one pressure line from the tractor to the
pounder valve. There is one hose from the valve to
the very small dia. cylinder on the pounder. All that cyl. does is raise the weight. There is another large diameter hose that returns the oil to the tractor very fast as the pounder comes down.
this hose should not be restricted in any way. If you can put it in the fill plug for the hydraulics and fasten it because the pressure will blow it out of the hole and get oil all over your tractor when those springs on the pounder contract and pound the post.
The open center tractor will work better because
you can tie it open on the tractor and it won't be trying to kick off when you use the valve on the pounder.
Shaver post pounder

I have had a driver on both of them.I took the collar off where you add hy oil and tapped it so I could thread a pipe in.You can then make up a T and cap it when you don't have the driver on or just unscrew the pipe and and put your dip stick back in.Just don't get your dump line to restricted as your hammer won't fall fast enough.
