Have an electrical problem! Cannot keep gen or reg working. Have to keep replacing one or the other constantly. Want to keep it orig. but a alternator is starting to look like my only option. If anyone has a sugestion it would a help

Not a common occurence.First thing to do would be to make sure all wiring is correct and in good repair with clean solid connections and no shorts.Generator(good or bad)can be tested as to correct operation or whats failing, and regulator is pretty basic. These systems are generally pretty much troublefree for decades.Though we resist, sometimes one just needs to brace up and consult a"Pro" who may spot the problem immediately...such as"battery in backwards"or "gennie needing to be polarized" or a pinched/frayed wire somewheres outta sight. It's a simple system.
