opinions on Good Year Dura-Torque tires

Most of my farm tractors run on Firestone's and I have been happy with them in regards to tread wear, casing quality ect. I never liked long/short bar tires like Dyna-Torques. I have been pricing new 18.4x38 tires for my 1070 Case and G Y D T (long/long bar)tires are $140.00/ea less than SAT Firestones(haven't heard much good about SAT 2's), 1070 gets used for cutting/rd. baling, hauling grain, planting ect., it's not my heavy tractor. Wondering if others have been running G Y D T's for farm work (not an 8n Ford ran in parades) and what they think of them as far as tread wear, traction ect.

Last year we put new 18.4-38's on our Oliver 1855. They're Coop's, but I was told that they're really Good Year's with Coop on the side wall. They seem to be holding up fine, great traction.

It's our heavy puller for all of our tillage and those really helped it pull the plow without slippage vs. the old tires.

The duals are the old inside tires (coop radials) and the inside are the new Coop (Good Year) bias long bar / long bar.

I put a set of 18.4X38 on my 1066 last fall. Same thing as you found out, the GY are a good bit cheaper. $570 for the GY and $780 for the Firestone's. My 10 only gets light work to. The Dura-Torques are narrower and taller and have much smaller lugs than the old tires I had on. I feel they should have much more rubber in the tread area. For a light use tractor they are ok but I would never put them on my heavy field tractors. Firestone tires in my opinion are the best farm tire period and if I could do it again I would spend the extra money on Firestone's.

I run Dyna-Torques on two tractors, 15.5-38 and 18.4-38. Also run 18.4-34 DT710s on another tractor. Never had any complaints about Dyna-torque traction, but bought them before Titan took them over. The DT710 actually pull better in untilled dry soil but not so good when it is muddy. Not a major issue since I don't drive in the fields when it is too wet but DT710 traction is also not quite as good in loose soil. I don't spend a lot of time on the road, but I've seen advertisement photos that indicate Dyna-torques wear quicker on the road than other tires. I believe the DT710s don't have this problem, but regardless are no longer being produced. The Dyna-torques I have are longbar/shortbar, so may not be applicable to the longbar/longbar you are considering. Perhaps these are only rebadged Titans.
Would prefer not to buy Firestones since they are owned by Bridgestone, but haven't seen much good press on Titan. Don't know what has happened to Cooper Tire, but the past alternative, Kelly Springfield, was absorbed by GY in the 90's.

Run NOTHING but goodyear tires on all my tractors, well, the non-antique ones any way, outlast anything as far as wear goes, does not weather crack and the long bar/ short bar drops the mud out best. other tires used to ball up, but these still pull even when filled with mud.

Well the thing about Good Years is they are all round and bulgy looking. They remind me of an over-weight woman wereing spandex.

Used to be that I would say Firestone would be worth the extra. But I am not impressed with the SAT II and would say for the money I would go with the GYs. And I am a Firestone dealer.

I have a new pair of Dura Torque's on my D17. I see it says right on the side wall made by Titan. Makes me wonder if Goodyear designed them and Titan produced them, or if they are a Titan tire produced for Goodyear simply to keep them in the ag tire business.
