This must be the transmission for cars day...coming home going about 35-40 the dodge van product shifted in to low and will not shift back up..if this trans shifts on vaccum did I lose a vacumm hose of some module for shifting..sure do like this van but need a cure...can anyone give me a clue of what i can do to make it shift up... it has plenty of fluid..thank you to all you car and tractor mechanics..and again thanks.

Folks had that problem on a 91 Dynasty. It got a new tranny filter and fluid, and the problem cleared up.

It depends on how new your car is. The newer dodge overdrives will go into a "limp" mode if there is a problem. It should be second gear, not low. The cause could be a number of things, so a transmission shop with diagnostic equipment will be needed.

had a company van do that
once you shut it off and restart it would be ok till the next time.
started around 80k and had 145k when I turned it in

If the van will shift ok after you shut off the ignition and restart, and then upon stopping will go to second gear and remain, it is doing as programmed and going to "limp mode".
Try this---After shifting into high gear, downshift manually and just before stopping, put into low gear. After stopping move shift lever into drive and see if it will upshift.
If this test works, I may suggest a simple solution. let us know.
