Help identfing engine

How about some more info? As in overhead valve or flathead? Manifolds- is it updraft or downdraft carb? What was it in if known? Cylinder arrangement- probably cast with crankcase but seperate cylinder blocks are known- thinking about a Lycoming I saw last month. About how big in displacement-240 cubic inchs? 300 inch? Crankshaft about 5 inch stroke like some Hercules? A little bit more info might get some better response. RN
 
Not sure what that is. I know that up thru the 1950's, Nash flathead sixes drove the water pump off the back of the generator, and the water pump was on the left [drivers] side of the block.

Never saw an indirect distributor drive.
 
Best would be to post a photo 'cause there's likely quite a few engines of that era that were set up as you describe.
