9N - years?

I was told a tractor I bought was a 1947 9N, then later I found an article that said 9N was only made during 1939 -1941. I can't find any serial numbers on it. Any ideas?

the name 9n was changed to 2n in 1942, because of the war. The serial number should be close to the oil filter. 2n had some improvements over the 9n.
get a good book on it

look on the back side of the rear axle housings. Cast on there are the dates of manufacture. The numbers are raised & are on each housing.

2N models still had a serial # that started with '9N'. Same tractor, really.
