Sure hope you guys in Calif. can put out those fires soon. The smoke here in Colorado east of the mountains is getting really bad.

I'm 20 miles north of Disneyland , up in the Puente hills , and all you can see to the north is smoke. All of the TV and FM radio transmitters are up on a mountain 40 miles north , and they are threatened as well
 
You would think people would wake up by now. Every year a lot of homes burn here in Calif. The home owners think fire will never happen to them. They just don't keep brush cleared at least 100 ft from the houses. And there are still the tree huggers out there telling what, and how much you can cut. stan
 
We will never get the fires out. In the old days we had a wild fire season and now we have wild fires all year long. A couple of reasons. Forest fires are normal and we have suppressed them for so long that all sorts of fuel/trash/brush has built up and when they burn they burn big and hot. Also the winter is comming later, leaving earlier and not gettting as cold. This allows oppertunistic diseases to kill trees at higher elevations.
 
No livestock + No logging = Big Fires.
Fires are a billion dollar business in California. They not fought, they are managed.
abundant voters are getting what they asked for. Enviromental laws and regulations are taking they"re toll. A broke state that can"t pay the price of years of abundant control. Excuse me while I step off my soapbox:) One more thing, what other state puts out a contract for t-shirt makers for fires??
 
This smoke is from fires 200 km away.
