Vintage Disk Cultivator.. What is this hitch?

Does anyone recognise this hitch? It's on an old 24 disc cultivator. I picked it up for an 1850's era Living History Farm and I'm trying to figure how to pull it.. a friend said he thought it was meant to be horse drawn.
Thank you.

I tried to attach a pic of the cultivator too but it seems only one at a time is allowed.

Ok, I might be littering.. guess I should have posted in the Imple, ent Alley. If anyone's interested I was able to post a couple of pics in the Implement Photos section.

Thank you.

It's a 1950's era tractor pulled disk - nice one.

It is not a cultivator, it is a disk. Some will call it a harrow disk in some parts of the country.

It is an IHC model - International brand.

You buy a simple straight clevis and put it in the loop on the hitch, pin the clevis to the tractor drawbar.

I have an older IHC model, and a wider version of what you picture, same model. Both of mine are in poor shape, should be hauled off to scrap but hard to get rid of dad's stuff.....

Yep an IHC disc harrow, we always just called it a disc. The purpose of the clevis was to make it easy to hook up to, you set the angle for how deep you want it to run.

Thanks for the response guys. A clevis explains the curve in the draw hoop, I was thinking to use a pintle but the hoop looks too wide. The harrow has a couple of broke discs and if I can ever take it apart I might look for some replacement parts. J in MD
