Crawled out of bed at 12:30, raked alfalfa until the sun broke the hill at 6:06.

Parked the rake and tried to bale, but just a "touch" green yet, so I went to cutting prairie hay for the horses.

Think I'm gonna quit fer today tho 'cause I'm 80-90 acres ahead of the darned baler. Maybe I can catch the baler up in the morning. :>(

Allan is that trees in the 2nd pic? Iam going
to try to bale haygrazer to night if it dont
rain. But we need the rain in west TX.

Nice pics, and darned nice land. What are you baleing, small squares, big squares, or round bales? What ever way thats alot of hay. With the weather we have been having here in Eastern NY (rain) every other day, we could never knock down that much hay. A few weeks ago on here I was grumbling about the weather, well we finally got 5 dry days, so I got 825 small squares in,,,,,only 1500 to go..lol j

Love those hay pictures. It's just so dry here in South Texas that hay is just a dream.
Last two years total I haven't made as much hay as a normal 1st cutting in one year.
I have fed hay 28 out of the last 30 months.
Sure would like to be doing what Allan is.

Wish I could send you some rain. Cant hardly make hay here in NY either, as its been so wet. We broke a record for rainfall in July of 9.36 inches, the record was less than that in 1871. good luck.

With all the rains we have had, and the cool weather it's darn tough to get alfalfa to dry down. I mowed it Thursday evening, used a moco. Ground was soft and I was leaving some pretyy good tread marks. Tonight the top is half DONE, but the bottom is just like it was cut an hour ago. Maybe flip it Monday morning.

Ya, know what you mean about just a tad too tough. Was to the hay field 2 times today and it is still a little high moisture. If there are no showers tonight, it gets flipped in the morning and hopefully by tomorrow night it will be in squares. Bud

I've never seen land that flat in my life.

I enjoy ALL of your pic's Allan.
